It is a classic love song but has all the negatives you may associate with big, syrupy love songs. If not a little mushy. The song contains gentle, chiming guitars and words designed to touch the audience. Evidence for the amount of people it’s moved- It’s youtube view count is 29,598,396.
In this album art you can see that they've manipualted the image to make it look like the tears from the eye are made of metal. They've used a texture in the background which also matches the outline of the face. Also in a way similar to my album art they have used an outer glow. Also like I overlayed my picture of the band they've done the same with the eye so it picks up partly some of the texture in the background.
Target Audience -
In a way Chad Kroeger knows exactly what his audience want, He released an extremely racy album that's full of songs about getting drunk and doing it all without breaking any taboos, but with enough love on the side with a few songs to slip his way into mainstream audiences. Once again using the example of how many views his videos have:

So obviously Nicklebacks audience is showing huge support for their music and it's a huge indication to keep producing music in the same way. They've tapped into a secure fan base which will always listen to thier music.
Chris the idea is that you really try to define the target audience based on gender, age, social class etc. Also explain how this artist is similar to your own. Very vague.
